The traditional A.I. Catheter designed to deposit semen in the cervix. It has an inner catheter which extends beyond the green foam or spiral tip. During PCAI a foam tip or a spiral tipped outer catheter is inserted into the vulva through the vagina of the sow and placed in the first interdigiting pads of the cervix. This is where the catheter wound end If using traditional A.I.

The smaller inner of PCAI catheter is then threader throungh the outer catheter. It's passed throung the remainning interdigitating pads of the cervix and lands in the uterine body. These smaller catheters can typically easily pass throungh the lumen of the cervix into the uterus. Then a semen dose can be deposited into uterus body.
